My New Secret Weapon

Look out, guys, I’ve got a new method of attack and I’m not afraid to use it. But don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt ;)

It’s called Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara, and it’s absolutely the best mascara I’ve ever found. Perhaps the best item of makeup I’ve ever owned. And trust me, ladies, there’s plenty to choose from. In all my 25 years, I’ve never found a mascara that lasted more than three hours. No matter what brand or formula, waterproof or not, even one that was supposed to last for 3 days, every mascara I’ve ever tried gives me those horrible circles under my eyes!

According to its product description on Amazon.com (and in my own experience), the Secret Weapon mascara essentially forms a tube around each individual lash. When you’re ready to remove it, just apply warm water and gentle pressure and the tubes slide off … it’s not your eyelashes coming off, I promise. Their unique formula makes this mascara truly smudge-proof, sweat-proof, flake-free. sleep-proof … and I’ve tested all of the above!

But wait, here’s the most exciting part … they offer free samples for just the cost of shipping! Just go to their site and there’s a link right in the middle to “Try it FREE!” Shipping to the U.S. is $2 (it comes from Australia), and just be aware, since it’s an online charge from out of the country, your credit card company might check with you before processing it like mine did.

If you’re interested, here’s a few more ladies who agree with me about the fabulousness of Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara:

*It took number one on this reporter’s list of Best Mascaras in the World
*It was this blogger’s choice for the Great Mascara Hunt
*The writer of this article left out Mirenesse, but the commenters didn’t!

I’ve Started Yelping

yelp.jpgNo, it’s not in pain or whatever you might think. It’s actually kinda fun, and useful, too.

Yelp.com is a user review website that invites people to share their experiences of local businesses. Users read and write reviews, give ratings, provide information such as whether the business accepts credit cards and is wheelchair accessible, and can also network with other users and leave compliments on each others’ reviews. In a way, Yelp is a new twist on word-of-mouth marketing and apparently, this was a fairly new approach when Yelp first began.

I discovered Yelp through a coworker who wants to utilize it as another business tool for our company. He wanted me to make sure our company was on Yelp (the site offers an angle directed at business owners, too) as well as seeing what else is out there.

So I signed up (you can see my profile and reviews if you want) and started writing. And now I’m kinda hooked. It’s just plain fun! I get to write, I get to share my favorite (and not so favorite) places in and around Portland, and it’s not just restaurants, either! Plus I got a compliment on like my first day from a total stranger. Who doesn’t love that?
