I’m not ashamed to admit … I only watched about 15 minutes of the Oscars last night, and that’s only because I was talking to my mom who happened to have that channel on. I did, however, read an interesting post on Solevoice about Diablo Cody, the winner of the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Apparently, Stuart Weitzmann creates a “Cinderella” pair of shoes for a special up-and-coming Oscar nominee each year. This year, he choose Cody, and the diamond-topped heels were priced at a cool $1 million. In her myspace blog, though, she fumed that she wasn’t informed of the shoes’ value and refused to be used as a publicity stunt. She wore shiny gold flats that matched her Oscar instead.
I have to say, I’d probably do the same thing. As much as I love shoes, no pair is worth that kind of money even if I could afford it.
