Is “Gwenelle” your real name?
Yes and no. Essentially, it’s the phonetic spelling of my middle name. My real middle name is “Gwenal” (my grandmother’s name “Gwen” + my grandfather’s name “Al” = “Gwenal”). I think “Gwenelle” is more pronounceable, so I’m seriously considering a legal change.
Who is “Fidhlear”?
He’s my fiancé. We’re getting married in September. And no, Fidhlear isn’t his real name. It’s the Irish word for “fiddler”. He’s more than half Irish, and he plays the fiddle (quite decently, I might add, although he doesn’t agree), so that’s what I call him online.
What about your best friend “Alaska”?
She’s one of my two best friends, and again, her name isn’t actually Alaska. But she is from Alaska … we met in college … and I plan to go visit her there someday! She’s also going to be one of my maids of honor.
Why all the aliases?
Because it’s fun to make up the nicknames … but mostly because the internet isn’t always the safest place to divulge information, so I’m not going to use anyone’s real name. Not even my own. I do, however, use “Gwenelle” or “Gwenelle7″ as my username on just about every networking site I’m a member of, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding me. For a slightly more thorough explanation, read this post.
How can I contact you?
Just send me an email. My address is Gwenelle7@gmail.com.
Can you notify me whenever you publish a new post?
